TotalitarismeClassificació : 01 Ciència econòmica Resum : The Road to Serfdom remains one of the all-time classics of twentieth-century intellectual thought. For over half a century, it has inspired politicians and thinkers around the world, and has had a crucial impact on our political and cultural history. With trademark brilliance, Hayek argues convincingly that, while socialist ideals may be tempting, they cannot be accomplished except by means that few would approve of. Addressing economics, fascism, history, socialism and the Holocaust, Hayek unwraps the trappings of socialist ideology. He reveals to the world that little can result from such ideas except oppression and tyranny. Today, more than fifty years on, Hayek's warnings are just as valid as when The Road to Serfdom was first published. SocialismeClassificació : 03 Economia política Resum : Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy remains one of the greatest works of social theory written this century. When it first appeared the New English Weekly predicted that `for the next five to ten years it will cetainly remain a work with which no one who professes any degree of information on sociology or economics can afford to be unacquainted.' Fifty years on, this prediction seems a little understated.
Why has the work endured so well? Schumpeter's contention that the seeds of capitalism's decline were internal, and his equal and opposite hostility to centralist socialism have perplexed, engaged and infuriated readers since the book's publication. By refusing to become an advocate for either position Schumpeter was able both to make his own great and original contribution and to clear the way for a more balanced consideration of the most important social movements of his and our time.Vista prèvia a Google Books : http://books.google.es/books?id=ytrqJswoRCoC&lpg=PP1&hl=es&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q&f=false Permalink : https://bibliotecatriasfargas.cat/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=2 Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy [text imprès] / Joseph A. Dimensions : 24 cm ISBN/ISSN/DL : 978-0-415-58329-9 Nota general : Inclou índex i bibliografia Idioma : Anglès (eng) Matèries : Bancs -- Aspectes socials
Empreses -- Responsabilitat social
Ètica empresarial
Finances -- Aspectes socialsClassificació : 073 Responsabilitat social corporativa. Inversions socialment responsables Resum : Social Banking describes a way of value-driven banking that has a positive social and ecological impact at its heart, as well as its own economic sustainability. Although it has a long and successful history, it has arguably never been more topical than it is now in the aftermath of the latest financial crisis. Most Social Banks came out of this crisis not only unscathed but much stronger and bigger than they were before. And contrary to their conventional peers, none of the Social Banks had to be bailed out with public funds. This increasingly attracts the interest not only of clients searching for safe and sensible ways to deposit their funds but also of conventional banks that begin to understand the potential of a more socially oriented approach towards banking.
Social Banks and the Future of Sustainable Finance is the first book to deliver a comprehensive and detailed overview about the past, present and possible future of Social and Sustainable Banking for researchers, students and a professional audience. The authors are experts from research and practice and have bee involved in Social Banking for many years. Thus they combine state-of-the-art expertise with valuable insider knowledge.
The book covers the following topics: the history of Social Banking, the need for Social Banking in the current economy, the particular issues of managing a Social Bank as business enterprise, Social Banking products and services, the special role of donations and foundations for financing change, the opportunities and challenges for Social Banks lying ahead, and concrete directions for the future of Social Banking. In addition to these respective analyses are many real-world examples and interviews with representatives of Social Banks. As such, this comprehensive collection delivers valuable insights for academics, students and professionals who are interested in the growing field of Social Banking.Vista prèvia a Google Books : http://books.google.es/books?id=Rj_fU_wXVkYC&lpg=PP1&hl=es&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q&f=false Permalink : https://bibliotecatriasfargas.cat/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=2 Social banks and the future of sustainable finance [text imprès] / Olaf Weber, Editor ; Sven Remer, Editor . - London : Routledge, 2011 . - 232 p. ; 24 cm. - (Routledge international studies in money and banking) .

Disponible Behavioral economics / Edward Cartwright (2014)
Títol : Behavioral economics Tipus de document : text imprès Autors : Edward Cartwright, Autor Menció d'edició : 2nd ed. Editorial : London : Routledge Data de publicació : 2014 Nombre de pàgines : xxvi, 556 p. ll. : il., gràf. Dimensions : 24 cm ISBN/ISSN/DL : 978-0-415-73761-6 Nota general : Inclou índex i bibliografia Idioma : Anglès (eng) Matèries : Economia -- Aspectes psicològics Classificació : 015 Neuroeconomia Resum : Over the last few decades behavioral economics has revolutionized the discipline. It has done so by putting the human back into economics, by recognizing that people sometimes make mistakes, care about others, and are generally not as cold and calculating as economists have traditionally assumed. The results have been exciting and fascinating, and have fundamentally changed the way we look at economic behaviour.
This textbook introduces all the key results and insights of behavioral economics to a student audience. Ideas such as mental accounting, prospect theory, present bias, inequality aversion, and learning are explained in detail. These ideas are also applied in diverse settings such as auctions, stock market crashes, charitable donations and health care, to show why behavioral economics is crucial to understanding the world around us. Consideration is also given to what makes people happy, and how we can potentially nudge people to be happier.
This new edition contains expanded and updated coverage of neuroeconomics, emotions, deception, and the contrast between group and individual behaviour, among other topics, to ensure that readers are kept up-to-speed with this fast-paced field. A companion website is also now available containing a test bank of questions and worked examples allowing users to see for themselves how changing the parameters can change the outcomes. This book remains the ideal introduction to behavioral economics for advanced undergraduate and graduate students.Vista prèvia a Google Books : http://books.google.es/books?id=IbysAgAAQBAJ&lpg=PP1&hl=es&pg=PP1#v=onepage&q&f=false Permalink : https://bibliotecatriasfargas.cat/pmb/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=3 Behavioral economics [text imprès] / Edward Cartwright, Autor . - 2nd ed. . - London : Routledge, 2014 . - xxvi, 556 p. : il., gràf. ; 24 cm.
